Dear White Matter Brain Cancer Trust,
I wanted to take a moment to express my deepest thanks for the incredible gift you gave my family in November 2019. When my mother was diagnosed with Glioblastoma earlier that year, our world changed in an instant, turned upside down by the weight of the unknown. But your generosity allowed us to take a family holiday to Queenstown—a trip that gave us so much more than we ever could have imagined.
That time together brought us moments of laughter, joy, and connection. We made treasured memories that still bring a smile to our faces, even now. We continue to use the inside jokes from that trip, small reminders of the happiness we shared. Those days weren’t just an escape from the reality we faced; they were a chance to hold onto each other a little tighter, to savour moments that we will carry in our hearts forever.
Of course, the trip was bittersweet, filled with both joy and the quiet sorrow of what we knew was coming. But in that space, we found moments of peace and togetherness that gave us strength. We will always treasure the memories of that trip—of my mother’s laughter, of time spent as a family, of the love and joy that we were able to experience, even in the face of grief.
Your kindness gave us something priceless—memories that will last a lifetime. For that, we are forever grateful.
With heartfelt thanks,
Aleisha and family
